PEDRO LEAL DAVID

PEDRO LEAL DAVID is a film score composer, as well as a screenplay writer and producer.
Born in Petrópolis, in 1983, he has worked in films, podcasts and theatre.
For cinema and television, he composed the music score for Sinfonia de um homem comum (2022), by José Joffily, the music scores for Apodi Morte e vida (2013) and Gerais (2014), by Thiago Carvalho and Arthur Frazão;
DAVID composed the scores for O Canto dos Exilados (2014), shown on Canal Arte 1, for Luana (2016), by Ana Terra Athayde, and for Breaking the Silence, by Julia Lima, shown at the 2019 Rio Festival.
He composed original soundtracks for the award-winning podcast series Praia dos Ossos (2020), for Bolsonaro: rise of a far right president (2020), for República das Milícias (2021), for O Sequestro da Amarelinha (2021) and for Crime e Castigo (2022), produced by Rádio Novelo, Revista Piauí, Globoplay, Spotify and Swissinfo.
For theater, he was the instrumentalist for Caranguejo Overdrive (2018) and Guanabara Canibal (2017) by Aquela Cia and the musical director for Apocalypse on the Corner (2016) and Tropical Lynch (2020) by Outra Cia for which he composed the soundtrack and served as musical director.
As a screenwriter and playwright, he is responsible for five seasons of the series O País do Cinema with Canal Brasil and he is one of the authors for the play E de repente uma ossada de baleia emergiu na idade, mounted by the SESI Cultura Dramaturgy Center in 2016.
In 2014, he released the EP Solar 26 and in 2016, the compact disc Ocupa as Trump Towers, with original songs of his own.
